Relic Entertainment is here with the latest game in the Warhammer series, Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising. Chaos Rising is a expansion pack to the first game. For those who are not familiar with this series, this game is a real time strategy game. The game features new race called Chaos Space Marines. All other races have also given new units with this new expansion.
The game is set on the world Aurelia which is home to Blood Ravens. Aurelia was believed to be destroyed many centuries ago but now it has resurfaced and with signs that it has been occupied by someone. This game is a standalone expansion you don’t need the base game to play it. You can just install this game and you are on your way to playing it. The gameplay remains unchanged from the previous game which was a major plus point of this series. This expansion adds Blood Raven campaign to the game and a new race for playing multiplayer games along with many new maps for the same. Also added are new heroes for other game modes. Chaos Rising is a great expansion pack and it stands out even if you haven’t experienced the original game. The campaigns are great. The gameplay is top-notch. You can even play co-op with your friend. He will control half of your troops and you controlling the other half. This game gives more importance to building a base for your attack than the actual battles. You can customize your characters with many new abilities. You will be briefed many times during the game with important updates. This will let you decide which of your troops you can send into the next battle and which will cause more damage to the enemy. As always you will get experience points but this time around corruption point system has been introduced which gives you some new powers to destroy your enemy.
The corruption that you do wont change the story at all until the final scene, so you can do all the corruption you want without the any consequences. The expansion is as good as the original was with the addition of new heroes to the ranks. You can play with them in Last Stand mode. New innovative corruption system adds new blood to this game. The option for multiplayer and co-op play are plenty so you will be playing the game for a while.
Chaos Rising is just the kind of expansion that is expected for this Warhammer 40000 series and it doesn’t disappoint you a bit. The game is worth with great visuals and graphics, new gameplay elements and a lot of new content thrown at you to keep you interested. The game will feel a little short but the considering replayability of this series I would say it’s great expansion to have come out for Down of War 2. Really thx for this great game, i come from Starcraft but while i wait for the laucnh of this, i play Warhammer, i started to play this games (Warhammers series) since a 1 week, and i love it, is some diferent to SC but i like all the History, Graphics, effects etc.. here a new fan coming! =)
