Dear Esther tells you the story of a castaway that was shipwrecked on an island called Hebridean. The narrator in the first chapter tells you about the history of the island and talks in beautiful phrases. The tone of the narration changes as time goes on in the story. You actually don’t do anything, just walk around the beautifully created island looking at the scenery and admiring the underground caves. You will be walking lonely on rocky shores, travel through beautifully lighted caves and through ships that are lying, long lost to the world. You will be taken from a one point to the next with subtle clues thrown around on the map but you will never feel like rushing through to the next point. The clues will show up little differently to the backdrop of the environment. Dear Esther free download is available from the link given below.

The story is more of a ghost story with things like paintings appearing on walls of caves and weird graffiti on other surfaces all around you. These things create a little mystery which goes on until the end of the game. The music is absent in most parts so you will be hearing waves and wind flowing and these things fade at the time of narration. The feeling of being away from the entire world and the loneliness that comes with it is something that you will never see in any of today’s games. Dear Esther does a really good job of creating such a believable world. Free download of Dear Esther is given below this story.

If you compare the game to a traditional one, obviously you will see all the shortcoming of it. But as a story told interactively Dear Esther is a masterfully created game. You are the one who should decide if this is worth your time. If you like the way Dear Esther tells you the story then you will definitely see the things that can be done in games and it can set a new concept about what games can do. Dear Esther might be one of the games that is very interesting without actually having any gameplay to show for it. Following link will get you Dear Esther free download.
